Mead Hall of Trees

Spark your holiday spirit at Mead Hall of Trees!

Beginning on November 28th running through January 31st, the entire Mead building will be decked out with Christmas decor and feature Christmas trees decorated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals.

We hope your family will add this special visit to the Mead Building to your list of annual holiday traditions.

Also, don’t forget to explore the Paul Goetz Toy Collection! Toys from 1889- 1960 will be on display throughout the month.

MCEC is open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday – Saturday.

Vintage Christmas at the Mead

Be sure to stop by the Mead this December and experience Vintage Christmas!

Best of all, every child will receive free admission to the museum from December 1 to December 31 when accompanied by an adult.

We will have treat bags with a cookie, a hot cocoa packet, and a craft to assemble at home. A scavenger hunt and bingo game can be played inside the Mead plus the entire building will be decked with Christmas decor including the Hall of Trees!  

Father Christmas will visit on Saturday, December 12 & 19.

Also, don’t forget to see the Paul Goetz Toy Collection! Toys from 1889- 1960 will be on display throughout the month.

MCEC is open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday – Saturday.

Face masks are strongly recommended but not required.

The Carols of Christmas

“The Carols of Christmas” is a special opportunity for all who love traditional carols to sing them in a decorated historic sanctuary. Musicians will include the Yankton UCC Adult Choir, a brass quintet, handbell choir, flautist, and Ted Powell playing the Yankton College Memorial Pipe Organ. But the emphasis will be on singing the old carols together.

All are welcome to the fully accessible sanctuary, and there is no admission fee.

YASB Christmas Concert

The Yankton Area Summer Band will reconvene for an annual Christmas Concert held at Yankton Summit Theater.

The all-volunteer band will perform some Christmas favorites at no cost to the public. A cookie and cider reception will follow in the high school commons provided by the Services Central Federal Credit Union.

Crimson Door Holiday Shopping Boutique

The Crimson Door Holiday Boutique is Yankton’s first Pop Up Shop. Filled with one-of-a-kind, hand-made items by local and regional artists, the Crimson Door is a must stop shop to find unique gifts for everyone on your list.

 

Yankton Area Summer Band Christmas Concert

The Yankton Area Summer Band will be holding their annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 16 at 4:00pm at the Yankton Summit Center located at 1801 Summit Street.

All concerts are FREE to the public and brought to you by Yankton Area Arts and the Yankton Parks & Recreation Department.

Tour of Homes

This year’s tour features these fabulous homes; The Cramer-Kenyon home, Ron & Jeannine Evans, Marilyn Loecker, Mike & Helen Miller, & Merrick & Jamie Monaghan.

Tickets are $25 and include the tour, a dessert reception hosted by the Yankton Area Arts Board of Directors, and 10% off shopping at the 13th Annual Crimson Door Holiday Shopping Boutique.

Tickets can be purchased at GAR Hall, Yankton Rexall and Yankton HyVee.

Holiday Festival of Lights

Join in on the Holiday fun with Yankton’s Festival of Lights!

On November 30th, the Yankton community will come together to celebrate the start of the holiday season! The Meridian District will illuminate with classic cars, floats, boats, fire trucks and thousands of Christmas lights.
