Kids Studio: Summer Art Camp

There is something for everyone this summer at Yankton Area Arts!

Kids Studio Kids Art Camp is a 6-week camp for kids in preschool through high school.

Pay per class! Cost includes all supplies.

Preschool – $5/class
6-12 years – $7/class
​Teens – $10/class

April 3, 2021. Sponsored by several Yankton businesses. Held @ laser barn: 3700 W 8th St, Yankton, SD 57078.
Children 0-14 (split into groups). Starts 1pm. Great prizes.

Vintage Christmas at the Mead

Be sure to stop by the Mead this December and experience Vintage Christmas!

Best of all, every child will receive free admission to the museum from December 1 to December 31 when accompanied by an adult.

We will have treat bags with a cookie, a hot cocoa packet, and a craft to assemble at home. A scavenger hunt and bingo game can be played inside the Mead plus the entire building will be decked with Christmas decor including the Hall of Trees!  

Father Christmas will visit on Saturday, December 12 & 19.

Also, don’t forget to see the Paul Goetz Toy Collection! Toys from 1889- 1960 will be on display throughout the month.

MCEC is open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday – Saturday.

Face masks are strongly recommended but not required.

Calvary Baptist Trunk or Treat

All are welcome to join us at the Calvary Baptist Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31st, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Children are invited to dress up and come to trick-or-treat  from vehicle to vehicle in the church parking lot.

We will also be serving hot dogs, chips, and drinks. 

Kids’ Fishing Derby

Free fishing for kids age 12 and under from 10:00 – 12:00.
– Equipment will be provided for those that don’t have their own, but if you have your own please bring it along.
– We will have lots of bait (worms).
– Fish cleaning is available at no charge. Typically each child can take home three rainbow trout for dinner.
– Four fishing ponds will be set up, providing lots of shoreline for fishing.
– We suggest you park at the Aquarium and walk on the paved path (not the road) down to the ponds.

Lewis & Clark Wag’n’Walk

Well-behaved pets on leashes (and their owners) are invited to join us on February 22nd at 10:00 AM for a winter hike at Lewis & Clark Recreation Area. We will meet at the Gavins Point Boat Ramp and walk 2.4 miles along the scenic lakeside and park trails. After the hike there will be a bonfire and hot chocolate available for guests.

Don’t have a pet? No problem! Come enjoy a beautiful winter day and stretch your legs.
